Opened in 2004 by the Alajmo family, Il Calandrino is a cheerful bistro welcoming guests throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner. It is located next door to Le Calandre retaurant, the heart of the Alajmo Group and home to Massimiliano Alajmo, the youngest chef in the world to receive three Michelin stars at the age of 28.

 

Il Calandrino's menu is inspired by the same ingredients as Le Calandre, offering a mix of seasonal dishes and timeless classics, such as dill tagliolini with seafood and pistachio sauce, or the legendary beef tartare by Papa Erminio. The service, offered in an informal yet authentic style, elevates simplicity to excellence, perfectly complementing the cuisine, thanks to the presence of Laura Alajmo and restaurant manager Alessandro Zanardi. The wine list has been carefully curated and continues to evolve through ongoing research, offering the opportunity to discover and explore wineries, producers, and wine regions from around the world.

 

Il Calandrino also features a pastry corner, renowned for its lightness, purity of flavors, and distinctively Italian character. Each creation respects and enhances the ingredients, resulting in unique and delicious treats. Among the standout desserts is the Pazientina, a traditional layer cake from Padua, originally from the 1600s and reinterpreted by Mamma Rita. Her version was so exceptional that it was officially recognized as the authentic recipe.
