Padova hosts the annual ISCR 2024 conference.

From June 19 to 23, 2024, Padua will host the second edition of the ISCR Conference, an international initiative born from the collaboration between the International Society for Contemplative Research, Mind and Life Europe, the Research Center of the Italian Buddhist Union, and the Postgraduate Program in Contemplative Studies at the University of Padua.

This event aims to promote the emerging field of contemplative research through an interdisciplinary dialogue that encompasses neuroscience, philosophy, religious studies, psychology, and educational sciences, integrating the profound insights of the world's contemplative traditions with the methodologies of modern science.

This year's conference will focus on "Embodied Cognition," which challenges the traditional model of the brain as a mere computer, exploring the role of relationships and interaction with the environment in the creation of meaning.
